How To Patch Test Nyrah Products? (Best Practice Guide)Updated 2 months ago
Patch testing helps identify sensitivity before full use, especially with SPF, actives, or fragranced products.
Where to patch test?
Do not patch test on the hands. Hands are frequently washed and exposed to cold, detergents, and sanitiser, which makes them more reactive and unreliable.
Best areas to patch test:
Along the jawline
Behind the ear
Side of the neck (below the ear)
These areas better reflect how facial skin will respond.
How to patch test?
Start with clean, dry skin.
Apply a pea-sized amount of the product to the patch test area.
Leave on and do not wash off.
Wait 24 hours before applying again.
Repeat once daily for 2–3 days before full facial use.
What is normal?
Mild tingling, warmth, or slight itching that settles within 5–10 minutes
This is usually a sensory response, not a reaction
What is not normal?
Persistent itching that does not settle
Redness, swelling, rash, hives, or bumps
Burning or stinging that worsens over time
If any of the above occur, discontinue use.
Extra guidance for SPF products (e.g. Lumina)
Always apply SPF over moisturised skin
Do not patch test immediately after exfoliation or active treatments
Introduce once daily initially
Avoid testing on compromised or broken skin
